Who we are

Plant a Tree is owned and operated by ASSOCIATED STRATEGIES LLC, a Delaware limited liability company, at 254 Chapman Rd, Ste 208 #27133, Newark, Delaware 19702, USA.

Who may order

You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract. If you order for a business or another person, you confirm that you have authority to act for them.

What you are buying

You are buying a one-time tree-funding service. After Stripe confirms payment, we instruct Ecologi to apply funding for the number of trees shown in your order through its tree-planting projects.

The service is complete when we submit and pay for the agreed tree funding. Physical planting may occur later according to the project’s schedule. You are not buying a particular tree, land, timber, financial asset, security or investment. Your purchase is not a charitable donation to Associated Strategies LLC and is not represented as tax-deductible.

Orders and payment

Before paying, you choose the tree quantity and USD or GBP. The total shown at checkout is the amount you authorize Stripe to collect. Prices include our payment, currency and service costs.

Your order is accepted when Stripe confirms successful payment. We may reject or refund an order before tree funding if payment fails, fraud is suspected, the price or quantity is clearly incorrect, fulfillment is unavailable, or accepting the order would be unlawful.

Immediate fulfillment and final sales

Tree-funding instructions are normally sent to Ecologi automatically as soon as Stripe confirms payment. By placing an order, you request immediate fulfillment and understand that the instruction may be completed before we can respond to a cancellation request.

Except where required by law or where we made an error, all sales are final once we submit and pay for your tree funding. At that point, the funding instruction cannot reliably be recalled and we do not offer change-of-mind refunds.

If you want to cancel before fulfillment completes, contact us immediately. We will try to stop the instruction, but automated fulfillment means cancellation may no longer be possible.

When something goes wrong

The final-sale policy does not limit any right or remedy that cannot legally be waived. Contact us if we fail to fund the quantity you paid for, charge you twice, fulfill the wrong quantity because of our error, or do not provide the service described. We will investigate and, when appropriate or legally required, reperform the service, correct the order or issue a refund.

For an unauthorized payment, contact your bank or card provider promptly and tell us so we can investigate the related order.

Ecologi and planting projects

Ecologi selects and works with planting partners and projects. Public tree records and project information are supplied by Ecologi. Physical planting may take place according to project schedules rather than when you pay.

We do not promise a particular species, planting date, precise location, individual tree identifier, survival period or lifespan unless your order expressly says otherwise. Project details may change for legitimate operational, ecological or safety reasons.

No carbon-offset claim

Tree planting purchased through Plant a Tree is not sold as a certified carbon offset, carbon credit, emissions allowance or guarantee that a particular amount of carbon will be captured. Do not use an order as evidence of offsetting unless you have obtained separate, suitable certification.

The downloadable PDF is an order record confirming the tree funding shown. It is not carbon-offset certification, a carbon credit, proof of ownership of particular trees, or a guarantee of a particular environmental outcome.

Your responsibilities

You must have authority to use the chosen payment method, check the quantity and currency before paying, and use the service lawfully. Do not attempt to interfere with checkout, pricing, fulfillment, analytics or security.

You are responsible for any environmental, advertising, tax or sustainability claim you make about your purchase.

Availability and changes

We may pause checkout, change future prices, introduce limits, change providers, or discontinue the service. These changes do not alter an order already accepted, except where reasonably necessary to complete it or comply with law.

We are not responsible for delays caused by events outside our reasonable control. We will take reasonable steps to reduce disruption and fulfill or remedy affected paid orders.

Service disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the site and service are provided “as is” and “as available.” We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted access or any specific ecological, carbon, project or tree-survival outcome.

Some states do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so some or all of this section may not apply to you. Any warranty or right that cannot legally be excluded remains in effect.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Associated Strategies LLC and its members, officers, employees and agents will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data or business opportunity, arising from the site, service, an order or a third-party planting project.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from an order will not exceed the amount you paid for that order. These limitations do not apply to fraud, willful misconduct, gross negligence, or any liability or consumer right that cannot legally be limited. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so they may not apply to you.

Privacy and third parties

Stripe processes payment, Ecologi receives the tree-funding instruction, Resend delivers transactional receipts, Vercel hosts the application, and our self-hosted Umami service provides analytics. Their services may also be governed by their own terms. Our handling of personal information is described in the Privacy Policy.

These terms

The version in effect when you order applies to that order. If any provision is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted and the remaining provisions will continue. A delay in enforcing a right does not waive it. These terms do not create rights for anyone other than you and Associated Strategies LLC.

We may update these terms for future orders. The “Last updated” date shows when this version took effect.

Governing law and courts

These terms and any dispute arising from them, the site or the service are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.

You and Associated Strategies LLC agree that any legal proceeding will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and each party consents to their personal jurisdiction. This does not take away any mandatory consumer protection or right to bring a claim elsewhere that applicable law does not permit you to waive.
